Todd Boyce was born in Wisconsin, USA, and studied at Oberlin Conservatory with Marlene Rosen. He went on to participate in prestigious training programs with the Opera Theatre of St. Louis, Music Academy of the West, Glimmerglass Opera, and Bavarian State Theater Opera Studio (Bayerisches Staatsoper Opernstudio) in Munich, Germany. After spending two seasons in Munich, Todd joined the ensemble at the Luzerner Theater in Switzerland, where he has been featured in over 200 performances of leading roles from the Lyric- and Kavalier-baritone repertoire. He is also a passionate concert performer with a repertoire covering all genres and eras.

Already during his college years, Todd appeared onstage as Count Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), Vicar (Albert Herring), Masetto (Don Giovanni), and as Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte), as well as in numerous concerts with The Cleveland Orchestra under Franz Welser-Möst and James Gaffigan.

In Munich, Germany as a member of the Opera Studio Program at the Bayerische Staatsoper, he performed regularly at the National Theater, Prinzregenten Theater, and Cuvilliés Theater with such conductors as Bertrand de Billy, Asher Fisch, Fabio Luisi, Kent Nagano, Kirill Petrenko, and Simone Young.  He also benefited greatly from intensive acting and language training there, as well as vocal instruction from Margreet Honig, John Norris, Rudolf Piernay and coaching with Tobias Truniger and Richard Trimborn.

As a current member of the ensemble of the Luzerner Theater in Lucerne, Switzerland, he has performed such roles as: Marcello (La Boheme), Germont (La Traviata), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Malatesta (Don Pasquale), Dandini (La Cenerentola), Harlekin (Ariadne auf Naxos), Sid (Albert Herring), Demetrius (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Sweeney (Sweeney Todd), and Fred/Petruchio (Kiss Me, Kate), among others. In addition, he has performed leading roles in contemporary operas by Johannes Maria Staud (Die Antilope) and Simon Wills (The Stolen Smells). An active and passionate concert performer, his repertoire spans from Bach's Christmas Oratorio and Händel's Messiah, through Puccini's Messa di Gloria and Mahler's Songs of a Wayfarer, to Carl Orff's Carmina Burana and Stravinsky's Requiem Canticles. In concert, he has appeared with orchestras such as the Cleveland Orchestra, the Lucerne Festival Strings, Bayerische Kammerphilharmonie, Residenz Festspiele Darmstadt, MusikWerk Luzern, and the Luzerner Sinfonieorchestra, among others.

In the 2015/16 season, Todd Boyce appears in such roles as Sid (Albert Herring), Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd), Claudio (Beatrice et Benedict), and Don Alvaro (Il Viaggio a Reims), in addition to concerts of Tippett's A Child of Our Time and Saint-Saens' Oratorio de Noel. In the fall of 2016, Todd is excited to be joining the ensemble of the Konzert Theater Bern in Switzerland's capital city.
